A RESIDENT has become increasingly frustrated after a housing association has failed to fix a broken wall in Basingstoke.
As previously reported, a wall in Abbey Road has been left broken with barriers up and broken brickwork lying around for months.
Jacky Tustain, a Popley councillor for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (BDBC), has previously aired her concerns with the Gazette.
She said: "After chasing around for months, it turned out it was the responsibility of Vivid. We are still waiting for Vivid to repair it. Ownership of other broken walls was passed back and forth between Basingstoke and Hampshire until finally, Hampshire took ownership. After nearly two years, we have had a dumped fridge removed from Tewkesbury Close but still have others waiting for removal by Vivid."

Now frustration has grown as the wall remains broken.
A resident who lives nearby, who doesn't wish to be named, said: "I walk past it every day and so I can see what progress or non-progress there is but I have reported it several times.
"It has taken a year to find out it is Vivid who is responsible and to wait for the council to intervene. I have lived here for over 50 years and things stay the same, nothing gets changed or fixed."
She said she has been left frustrated about how long it is taking to fix the problem.
She continued: "Walls like this are additionally dangerous when they are high above the pavement. When the side of the wall crashed down, neighbours said it sounded like a bomb going off."

Carolyn Munns, head of property services at Vivid, added: "Work to fix the wall by Abbey Road has begun but had to be halted due to bad weather and the Christmas period. Works will recommence and be completed end of next week, weather permitting.
"The fencing surrounding the wall is being checked for damage to ensure the continued safety of local residents."
Residents have reported other issues in the area including holes in the road and broken bricks where people park.
