FIRE crews were called to a Basingstoke restaurant after steam had been mistaken for smoke.
Fire crews were called to Zizzi's restaurant on Thursday, January 5 after the fire alarm was activated.
Basingstoke firefighters took to Twitter to share the news.
They posted: "H01P8 mobilised alongside H01P6, H01P7 and H01A1 also from @Basingstoke_01 to reports of a fire in Zizzis, Basingstoke.
"The alarm activated, believe to be caused by a faulty boiler in the basement. Incident handed over to restaurant staff."
Following the incident, a fire service spokesperson said that there was no fire.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Basingstoke crews were alerted shortly after 10am to smoke coming from the basement of a restaurant on London Street.
"The stop message came in at 10.38am after it was determined to have been a false alarm, with a water tank creating steam which had been mistaken for smoke."
