A BASINGSTOKE business owner was left in shock after she discoved her Facebook and Instagram had been hacked.

Owner of catering firm Mannicitas, Mannie Fidgett-Fonseca, was left feeling unsure how to restart her social media after losing five years of work she spent building up her online presence. 

Now, four months later, even though it has been a challenge, Mannie has put the business back on a good path.

She said: "It's been a challenge that’s for sure, getting everything back up again, getting reviews. But it's going well considering the current climate with the cost of living crisis and where we previously were.

"We noted a dip in numbers, especially around Xmas but I know it’s the same with other small businesses around Andover. However, January has been a fantastic month as we're getting ready for valentines day. We've been getting a lot of repeat customers from events, so we've obviously left a good taste in people's mouths."

As the business continues to get its name back out there, over Christmas they took part in their yearly charity work. 

Mannie decided to provide a hand full of families, who had emailed and expressed the situation they were in, with a warm Christmas dinner and pudding - something they may have gone without otherwise.

Independently, Mannie has been taking part in charity work for the past ten years. But last year, just before her Facebook and Instagram were hacked she took part in a government-paid programme, Get Active Sports, helping to provide more than four thousand meals to children over the six-week summer holidays.

Get Active Sports was eligible for families with children in receipt of free school meals and government support over the summer holidays. 

Mannie said: "It was amazing to see children enjoying the food and trying different things they've possibly never had before. We plan on helping out again next year too."
