POLICE have been conducting enquiries at an address in Basingstoke in relation to a serious assault that saw a man shot in the leg.
Residents of Normanton Road said they were concerned to see police in their street last week.
Forensic officers were seen searching an address.
A spokeswoman from Hampshire Constabulary has today confirmed that the police were carrying out enquiries in relation to the assault.
She said: "On Friday, February 3 officers carried out enquiries at an address in Normanton Road as part of our investigation into a serious assault that took place on a playing field on Tewkesbury Close, Popley in Basingstoke on Wednesday, February 1."
This was part of a wider search into the attack, which has seen a man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
At 11.41pm on Wednesday, February 1, police were called to a playing field in Tewkesbury Close, Popley after a 19-year-old man sustained what is believed to be three gunshot wounds to his leg.

The victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Detective chief inspector Justin Dipper, said: “We have been conducting searches of the park as well as carrying out house-to-house enquiries at addresses in the surrounding area.
“As part of our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or has any information.
“We understand this incident may have caused concern amongst the community. The increased police presence will continue into the evening and throughout the weekend. If you have any concerns or information please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our officers.”
An 18-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released on police bail to return on May 2.
