A MAN from Basingstoke has been fined hundreds of pounds after driving without a valid licence.

Luke Mehmi, of Oakridge Road, drove a Vauxhall Corsa on Oakridge Road without a licence permitting him to do so in December 2021. The 32-year-old also had no insurance.

During a hearing held at Aldershot Magistrates' Court, Mehmi was handed eight penalty points on his licence and banned from getting behind the wheel for six months. He was also fined £880.

On top of this, he was also ordered to pay mount court costs of £110.

MAGISTRATES have banned a Hampshire man from getting behind the wheel after he was caught speeding.

Daniel Ross, of Barton Stacey, drove a Ford Fiesta on the M3 in Basingstoke, between junctions seven and six, at a speed of 105 per hour in 2021.

During a hearing at Aldershot Magistrates Court, the 24-year-old pleaded guilty and was banned from getting behind the wheel for six months.

Magistrates also handed him a fine of £310 and gave him six penalty points for the offence.

He was also ordered to pay court costs of £110 and a surcharge fee of £34.

A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed points for speeding on a restricted road.

Daniel Hoston, of Basingfield Close, drove a Citroen Berlingo Index on Hatch Warren Way speeding at 38 miles per hour in 2021.

During a hearing at Aldershot Magistrates' Court, the 39-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence and was handed three points and fined £40.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man for harassing another person, causing them alarm or distress.

Jake Johnson, of Stroud Close, used threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm /distress to someone else in June 2022.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.

Magistrates ordered him to pay a fine of £200 as well as ordering a baseball bat to be destroyed.

On top of the fine Johnson also must pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £80.

A DRUG driver from Basingstoke has been disqualified from getting behind the wheel for months.

Kelvin Prout, of Western Way, drove a vehicle on Sandys Road last year with 5.8ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood - the legal limit is two.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court Prout pleaded guilty to the offence. Magistrates banned the 54-year-old from getting behind the wheel for 12 months and fined him £60.

He has also been ordered to pay court costs of £85.
