A CHARITY is organising a special five-mile walk to support bereaved people in Basingstoke.
Bereavement charity Cruse Basingstoke is organising the event on Sunday, March 12, following last year’s successful event and after seeing an increase in demand for bereavement support due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The walk includes taking in beautiful local views to raise money to support bereaved people in Basingstoke.
Participants will meet at the café in the park in Broadmere Road, Beggarwood, and set off from 9.30am.
The walk is being organised by Cruse Basingstoke chair Colin Godfrey.

Colin said: “We are really excited to be organising this special walk. We’ve been supporting bereaved children, young people and adults in Basingstoke for 30 years and know how important it is that people grieving get specialist support, as soon as they need it. Since the pandemic we’ve seen a steady increase in client referrals and have helped over 200 bereaved people in 2022.
“We are always looking for new volunteers to undertake Cruse training which can be an incredibly rewarding experience.
“We are encouraging bereaved people, volunteers, supporters and the public to join us for this friendly walk – everyone welcome, dogs too!”
All participants should register here and will receive a free Cruse t-shirt: buytickets.at/crusefundraising/827869.
Cruse Basingstoke is a local branch of the national charity Cruse Bereavement Support.
