DRIVERS in Basingstoke will have 12 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am March 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M3, from 9am February 20 to 1pm July 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 5 to 5, hard shoulder closure for inspection works.

• A34, from 8pm February 20 to 6am February 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 southbound, Sutton Scotney Services exit slip road closure.

• A34, from 8pm February 20 to 6am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Tot Hill, slip road and lane closures for horticulture work, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 9pm February 20 to 6am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 7, slip road closure for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 8pm February 21 to 6am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 5, Slip closure for drainage works.

• A34, from 8pm February 21 to 6am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Tot Hill, slip road and lane closures for horticulture work, diversion via National Highways network.

• A303, from 8pm February 23 to 6am February 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound and A34 northbound and southbound, Popham to Bullington to M3, junction 9, diversion only for Hampshire County Council works.

• A34, from 8pm February 27 to 6am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 southbound, Litchfield to Firgo Farm, Lane closure for drainage works.

• A303, from 8pm February 28 to 6am March 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 7, Slip and lane closures for drainage works.

• M3, from 8pm March 1 to 6am March 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 6, slip road and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 9pm March 3 to 6am March 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 5, slip road closure for barrier repairs, diversion via National Highways network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
