DRIVERS are being warned of road closures around a Basingstoke roundabout as work is carried out on the road surfacing.

Hampshire County Council has said following new ducting and drainage in the road around the Brighton Hill Roundabout, road surfacing work will start on Monday, March 6 to widen the inside of the roundabout.

The works are expected to last until Sunday, March 11, and will take place between 7.30am to 8pm.

County councillor Stephen Reid explained to residents on his website about the upcoming changes to help with any confusion and annoyance caused by these works.

There will be a partial closure of the roundabout with diversions in place via Kempshott and Winchester Road roundabouts, including a single lane through the A30 Brighton Hill Roundabout.

All footways and crossings will remain open and access to all residents and businesses will be maintained.
