AROUND 20 caravans set up an unauthorised camp outside a Basingstoke school.
The caravans parked up on a grass area near Hatch Warren Infant School on Wednesday, March 1, and police were made aware.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were made aware of an unauthorised encampment at 1.43pm on Wednesday, 1 March on Gershwin Road. It was reported that approximately 20 caravans had arrived on a grass area opposite Hatch Warren Infant school.
"Officers attended and advised the encampment of the injunction that is in place and that they were required to leave the site. The encampment complied and left the area."
A resident informed the Gazette that the school had let parents know about the caravans via email.
