A HAMPSHIRE man has been ordered to complete unpaid work after committing a number of offences including carrying a weapon.

Christian Macdonald, of Redbridge Road, assaulted another man in Basingstoke and threatened unlawful violence towards another person on January 25. 

On the same day, the 34-year-old without lawful authority or reasonable excuse had in his procession a weight-lifting pole on Amazon Road in Basingstoke.

On or about January 25 Macdonald destroyed a car windscreen while being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to all the offences.

Magistrates ordered him to take part in 80 hours of unpaid work and said the weight-lifting pole must be destroyed.

On top of this, he was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £114.

MAGISTRATES have ordered an Oxfordshire man to do unpaid work after he stalked a woman in Basingstoke.

Noel Francis, of Manor Farm, between May 18 and August 29 last year stalked a woman to which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her. Francis turned up outside of her address on numerous occasions, as well as driving past her whilst she was on her run.

During a hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 66-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates ordered Francis to take part in 50 hours of unpaid work and on top of this he was banned from contacting the woman he stalked. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £95.

MAGISTRATES have fined a driver who got behind the wheel of a vehicle in Basingstoke while being disqualified.

Georgi Panchev, of Hainault Road, drove a Ford Focus on Winchester Road while being disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence on January 21.

On the same day, the 32-year-old drove the vehicle without any insurance permitting him to do so.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court Panchev pleaded guilty to both of the driving offences.

As a result, magistrates banned Panchev from getting behind the wheel for six months. On top of the disqualification, Panchev was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £166.

A BASINGSTOKE drunk driver has been disqualified from driving for more than 10 months.

Lukasz Zukowski, of Wrekin Close, on February 12 drove a Mercedes Index on Alencon Link in Basingstoke with 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 34-year-old pleaded guilty to the driving offence.

Magistrates banned Zukowski from getting behind the wheel for 19 months and ordered a fine of £450 to be paid.

Zukowski was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £180.
