A person has died after being struck by a train in Hampshire, police have confirmed
On Thursday, March 16, a number of trains were cancelled and delayed between Basingstoke and Eastleigh due to an emergency incident.
Police and paramedics were called at 1.13pm following reports of a casualty on the railway tracks.
The railway line was closed while emergency services attended the scene.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.
A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said: "Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin. This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
Train services were already reduced due to industrial action taking place, but following the incident further journeys were delayed and cancelled.
South Western Railway has reported that they have requested replacement buses to help stuck passengers.
