A BASINGSTOKE man has been arrested in connection with drugs supply offences.
The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and possession of a knife.
According to police, officers conducting patrols saw two men carrying out a suspected drug deal in woodland close to Stratfield Road at around 5.20pm on Friday, March 17.
Upon seeing the officers, the two men fled, police said.
A spokesperson said: "Following a short pursuit, one of the men, a 19-year-old from Basingstoke, was detained.
"The man was searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and during the search officers found him to be in possession of Class A and B drugs and a knife."
He has since been released on police bail with conditions and an investigation is underway.
He was arrested by Basingstoke’s high harm team.
