Basingstoke Hammers held Republic of Chineham 1-1 at the interval in their home Andover Presidents Cup semi-final tie, but romped away with the second half, winning 5-1 and booking their place in the final against current holders Tidworth Town Youth, writes Tony Spencer.
The final will be staged at Longmeadow Sports Centre in Whitchurch on April 23. Kick off at 4.30pm.
Despite Andy Parker and Daniel Willis scoring, North Warnborough The Anchor went down 2-7 to AFC Aldermaston in Division 2.
Oakridge B were awarded a home walkover against Republic of Chineham Reserves.
In top vs bottom in Division 3 Basingstoke Casuals romped home 5-1 victors over Newchester. Danny Grimes scored a pair, Matthew Lavers, Joe Oates and Ali Nice one each, all scored in the first half. Louis Cooper replied on 68 mins.
Once again this season struggling Cranbourne Rangers showed what they are capable of, when a full squad is available, when they beat high-flying Farnham Spitfires 1-3 away from home. Cranbourne opened the scoring with a 35-yard screamer from Jamie Galpin. Farnham replied through Nathan Taylor to make it 1-1 but Cranbourne seemed to kick up another gear with Jake Nice scoring twice more to give Cranbourne a much-needed 3 points.
Sherborne St John chalked up an emphatic league double at The Oak FC with a 1-6 result. Spencer Nicholson got a brace, Bradley Elliot, Woody Tydeman, substitute Lewis Smart and Jack Page converted a penalty. Joshua Barfoot replied for The Oak.
AFC Ramsdell was denied a late goal at Brookvale United in Division 4, after a push from a Ramsdell player on the back of a Brookvale player, finishing 3-2 in favour of the team most likely to win promotion. Ramsdell had made a really good fight of it until the end, the players have to be very happy with the closeness of the result. Brookvale are in the fight for the title, so this was a great result for Ramsdell. Goals for Ramsdell were Jake Ball and Freddie Stevens.
A brace from Thomas Bartlett for AFC Popley ensured a 0-2 victory at Westside Athletic.
