MORE wet weather might be on the way for Basingstoke, which is bad news for anyone hoping for the spring sun.
An afternoon of heavy rain has been forecast by the Met Office on Friday, March 31.
Last weekend, the clocks went forward promising sunnier and warmer weather but we are yet to see it.
Heavy rain is forecast across the town from 3pm until 8pm. The wet weather will turn into light drizzle but may turn heavy again at 11pm and will continue into the early hours of Saturday, April 1.

It will also be quite windy, with gales above 30mph, with heights of 36mph forecast this evening around 7pm. It is not expected to fall until after 11pm.
The full Met Office forecast reads: "Cloudy and wet for much of Friday, with drizzle and showery rain likely to become heavy at times, particularly during the afternoon. Windy along the south coast with gales possible, but lighter winds further inland. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
"Heavy, showery rain will ease this evening. Cloudy, rather damp conditions overnight, with widespread low cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Strong winds easing along the south coast. Minimum temperature 7 °C."

The weekend, however, looks much more promising.
The full forecast says: "Remaining cloudy, with further outbreaks of light rain and drizzle for many, although it may gradually become drier and brighter late afternoon and into the evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
"Drier and brighter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with some sunny spells. Daytime temperatures will be around average, but light winds and clear skies will allow overnight frosts to develop."
