PEOPLE across Basingstoke have paid tribute to former Gladiator, Bernadette Hunt, after news of her death.
Better known as Falcon, Bernadette died at the age of 59 following a battle with cancer, Rick Jango, the partner of Falcon's sister, confirmed on Facebook on Friday, March 31.
The fan-favourite, who was from Basingstoke, was one of the most popular Gladiators and was on the ITV show for seven series until it ended in 1999.
She was known for being an all-rounder, able to turn her hand to any of the gruelling events, whether she was armed with a pugil stick in Duel or traversing the rings of Hang Tough.

Bernadette also became renowned for being the show's nicest character, always willing to sign autographs and shake competitors' hands, even if she had lost.
Following the news of her death, residents from across town have shared their memories of Falcon with the Basingstoke Gazette on Facebook.
Dani Burt said: "Oh no, I had the pleasure of Bernie being my personal trainer at the sports centre. She was such a gentle and kind soul. My thoughts and prayers go to her beloved family at such a difficult time."
Remembering her fitness classes in the town, Janice Berry said: "Lovely lady, she did a keep fit class at our village hall which I went to until I was expecting our first daughter."
Ed Chango Owen added: "RIP Auntie Bernie. My inspiration to take up excercise and look after myself. My love to all the family."

As a television icon, many residents often bumped into her in the town centre.
Rupinder K Gill said: "Really sad news. I remember meeting her and she spoke to us and signed a picture. Sending my condolences to her family and friends."
John Green added: "Met her in the food hall in town centre, really nice lady and happy to chat to fans."
Natalie Pearson said: "So sad, I met her once, she gave me a lift home when I was babysitting for one of my mum’s friends. She was so lovely & chatted away to me the whole way home."
