A FARM hosted a two-day community event where locals had the opportunity to plant their own saplings.
Silchester Farm in Silchester, near Tadley, held a tree planting event at the farm on March 28 and March 29, in collaboration with one of its sustainable suppliers, Sapling Spirits, which donated 1,000 trees.
Despite the rain, the great British weather did not derail the group's plans as they planted all of the trees around the grounds with help from a variety of people of all ages.

Silchester Primary School spent the morning at the farm, planting trees and learning about the animals and the kitchen garden.
Silchester Farm is growing a vast selection of its own produce on-site, allowing it to create menus using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Members of the farm were ecstatic to learn that a lot of the pupils are conscious of their own sustainability, including growing their own fruit and vegetables at home themselves.
Staff at the farm were also joined by Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Paul Miller and Mayoress Sandra Miller, who enjoyed a tour of the farm and planted their own trees.
The farm said it had been a 'privilege' to host them and hear their stories.
They added: "We are delighted they enjoyed their visit and are pleased we had the opportunity to share our event with them."
The farm welcomed many more visitors across the two days including friends and family, including local suppliers, couples who had married at the farm, as well as couples who are due to celebrate their weddings in the future.

A spokesperson for Silchester Farm said: "It was a great opportunity for our community to enjoy the farm and plant some history on the site which will be enjoyed for many years to come.
"Our team work extremely hard to utilise nature-based solutions to target climate change and not only did our event get everyone outside enjoying the fresh air, but every tree planted will improve the wildlife habitat and remove harmful pollutants - a win all around in our eyes.
"By combining our efforts we endeavour to educate the younger generations and continue to support sustainability and encourage green hospitality in every workplace."
