The Old Basing Bowling Club began their 75th anniversary season with a bang, as a record 50 of the club's 80 members participated in an exciting opening drive on Sunday, April 16.
Founded in 1948 by a group of local enthusiasts, the club has remained a fixture in the community and has planned a variety of special events and matches throughout the year to celebrate this important milestone.
President Maurice Hockley said the club is planning some special events in this milestone season, starting with a match against Royal Household Bowling Club in Windsor on Sunday, April 30.

The club will further play two special games against Hampshire sides later during the summer.
"The club has prospered ever since it was founded in 1948. Today we have 85 playing members and six social members. We arrange a lot of competitions and friendlies.
"The older members in the club get an opportunity to get out, meet people and be socially active."
The club welcomes newcomers to the sport of bowls and continues to renew its membership year after year.
