PUPILS at a Basingstoke school planted trees in honour of our late Majesty, the Queen.
On March 29, as part of the Queen's Green Canopy, an impressive 60 trees were planted on the grounds of Aldworth School by some of the school's British Transport Police cadet unit.
The day was arranged by a history teacher at the school, who organised for the trees to be delivered to Aldworth.

After a day in lessons, the cadets planted crab apple trees and hawthorn trees among other native varieties.
Cadet leader Irene Williams said: "The cadets thoroughly enjoyed planting the trees in March and have been keeping an eagle eye on their progress since returning from the Easter holidays."
All schools across the country were encouraged to take part in this project, where trees were planted in memoriam to honour Her Majesty.
The school expressed its excitement for current and future generations of pupils to be able to see the trees grow.
