As the coronation of King Charles III draws closer, preparations are underway in Basingstoke and Deane to ensure the celebrations go off without a hitch.

In order to facilitate the festivities, the council has announced a list of 24 streets that will be closed for varying durations, starting from Saturday, May 6.

The closures will affect different areas of the borough. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their journeys in advance and take note of the affected areas to avoid any inconvenience.

1. Firecrest Road/Redwing Road

Duration: Sunday, May 7, between 11.30am and 6pm.

Area: Between 37 - 73 Firecrest Road and 54 - 59 Redwing Road known as 'the circle'.

2. Glebe Meadow

Duration: Sunday, May 7, between 2pm and 9pm.

Area: From number 22 and number 7 to the end of Cul de Sac.

3. Eastfield Avenue

Duration: Saturday, May 6, between 10am and 7pm.

Area: From numbers 28 - 2A and numbers 27 - 1.

4. Coronation Road

Duration: Monday, May 8, between 8am and 5pm.

Area: 0.18 mile from entry to the road to the end (no through road) between 8am and 5pm.

5. Linnet Close

Duration: Saturday, May 6, between 11am and 7pm.

Area: From its junction with Kestrel Road to its northern end (right-hand side only).

6. Maynards Wood

Duration: Sunday, May 7, between 10am and 4pm.

Area: Outside number 14 to number 7 Maynards Wood.

7. Church End and The Green, North Waltham

Duration: Sunday, May 7, between 12pm and 8pm.

Area: Church Road between its junctions with Yew Tree Lane and The Green cottages, Batchelors to Thatchings.

8. Kempshott Gardens

Duration: Sunday, May 7, between 11am and 8pm. Notice will carry over to May 8 if the weather is bad on Sunday. 

Area: From outside Number 4 to Number 10.

9. Hammond Road

Duration: Sunday, May 7, between 2pm and 5pm.

Area: Entire length of Hammond Road.

There are a further 15 roads that will be closed for Coronation parties, but the duration and area have not been published yet. These roads are:
