A British high street clothing retail company set to open a store in Basingstoke has provided no update as to when customers can expect to see the store open.
Ted Baker had been set to introduce a store into Festival Place in 'early 2023' according to a sign that is on display outside the store plot.
Ted Baker was founded in 1988 in Glasgow, Scotland. The company is owned by Authentic Brands Group, after its £211m acquisition in October 2022. The brand has over 500 shops and concessions around the world.
The chain is set to take over a unit previously occupied by British lifestyle brand Joules, which closed its Basingstoke store on August 26 2022, after less than three years in the town. Despite this, no work has been undertaken to prepare the store in Basingstoke to open, making shoppers question whether or not Festival Place users will ever see the Ted Baker store open in Basingstoke.
The Gazette has contacted both Festival Place and Ted Baker but has yet to receive a reply from either.
