A shopping centre in Basingstoke is urging people to support The Big Help Out on Monday.
To mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation, thousands of organisations across the country are getting together to give everyone the chance to help out in their communities. One of these organisations is Festival Place.
The objective of The Big Help Out is to raise awareness of volunteering throughout the UK and provide opportunities for people to experience volunteering and make a difference in their communities.
The Basingstoke shopping centre is asking locals to pledge their time to support its chosen charity, St Michael’s Hospice.
Festival Place director Neil Churchill said: “Any time that people can spare to help our fantastic local hospice would be amazing.
“The hospice does vital work supporting people across North Hampshire who have a life-limiting illness, are facing the end of life, or are experiencing bereavement, and there are lots of ways to support them by volunteering.
“If people could just let us have their name, email address, and the number of hours they wish to pledge, we will pass that on to the St Michael’s Hospice team, who will get in touch.
“No matter what you are good at, there’ll be something to suit all helping hands.”
