RESIDENTS in Basingstoke did not let the rain dampen their spirits as they came out in force to celebrate the King's Coronation.
The Coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as King and Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms took place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
Charles acceded to the throne on September 8, last year, after the death of his mother, Elizabeth II.

Residents across the borough got together with family and friends to celebrate the historic moment he was officially crowned King, from street parties to fantastic cakes, they had a great time.
