THE chef and owner of a pub in Basingstoke pub has said he is 'over the moon' to have been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Gordon Stott, chef patron of The Purefoy Arms has been shortlisted in the Pub Chef of the Year at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards, which is seen as the chefs’ Oscars.
It recognises exceptional talent across the whole of the hospitality industry – from apprentice and young chefs just starting out in the business to those who are established in their careers in hospitality, pubs and restaurants.

Gordan said: "The team and I are over the moon to be shortlisted in such a prestigious award, and to win overall will just show us we are on the right track to be one of the best pubs in the UK, I look forward to the awards evening."
Steve Munkley, vice president of the Craft Guild of Chefs, added: “Championing and nurturing talent is at the heart of the Craft Guild of Chefs ethos, and what better way to inspire and encourage chef talent than by having them recognised by their peers.”
The winners will be announced on Thursday, June 1 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
