A TICKETING website which sold tickets to the cancelled Kids Party in the Park event in Basingstoke said it is investigating claims that refunds have not been issued.
Ticket Tailor sold tickets on behalf of Kids Party in the Park, which was meant to be held in Basingstoke on April 12, but was cancelled a week before on the grounds of ‘public safety’.
The organisers reassured those who bought tickets, costing £80 for a family of four, that all refunds had been processed.

However, more than a month later some families from Basingstoke have still not had their money back.
Ticket Tailor said it is taking action “to investigate the claims raised”.
As previously reported, the family festival which was meant to include performances, fairground rides and appearances from kid’s television characters, was cancelled because its licence application was refused on the grounds of ‘public safety’.
A council spokesperson said: “As a council we would expect the event organiser to refund those people who have purchased tickets and would not consider any future event bookings on our land from the organiser if this does not happen.”
However, more than a month later and some families are still waiting.

One Basingstoke resident, who did not want to be named, said she will be taking legal action against the company.
She said: “They explicitly told me that it is a legal requirement for refunds to be paid no later than 30 days from issuing. I have emailed them this week to let them know that if the refund is not in my account by the end of the week that I will be seeking legal action.
“I have not received a response, and since this hasn’t been paid in the legal timeframe, stated by them, or by the extension I have provided, I will now be starting legal proceedings."
Kids Party in the Park, which is run by Southcoast Events Ltd, is continuing to sell tickets for another event due to take place in Portsmouth on May 29, but has not yet secured a licence for this.
A spokesperson for Portsmouth City Council said: “The council is working through the events safety advisory group process with the organiser and we are waiting for the organiser to send through the outstanding documentation.
“We advise organisers not to market their event until permission to go ahead has been granted by the events safety advisory group but we are aware they are selling tickets for their event.
“We are aware of the concerns raised by other local authorities but we have a robust process in place for granting permission for events to go ahead in the city and we are working through this process currently with the organiser.”
Kids Party in the Park has not responded to a request for a comment.
