RESIDENTS at a care in Basingstoke have been busy celebrating the hard work and dedication of their nurses.

Residents and staff at Ashcombe House, in Worting Road, got involved in National Nurses Week, which begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12.

In 2022, the International Council of Nurses is seeking to focus on the need to protect, support and invest in the nursing profession to strengthen health systems around the world.

International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of caregivers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.

Louise Lambert, general manager at the home, said: "At Ashcombe our nurses and staff are hard-working and passionate about caring for others, all their efforts are focused on delivering the best possible care for our residents, so it’s nice to take this time to show our appreciation in return."

One resident said: "The staff here spend so much time and energy looking after us, it’s been lovely to show just how much we appreciate them, and they do an amazing job."
