IN a heartwarming tale of hope and resilience, a Basingstoke family has found solace and joy in a charity that supports vulnerable children and families living with Muscular Dystrophy (MD).
George White, 15, who lives with MD, has had two ‘Muscle Dreams’ experiences from the Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) charity.
The MHF, renowned for its highly personalised and life-changing wish-fulfillment experiences known as Muscle Dreams, has been a beacon of hope for families grappling with the challenges posed by MD.

In June 2018, George and his family took part in the charity’s Porsche Muscle Dream driving experience programme, and then in December 2022, he attended a rugby Muscle Dream at Twickenham Stadium to watch England versus Italy.
After the game, George said: “It was my first time at Twickenham and I was blown away by the size and the numbers of supporters there. I absolutely loved the roar of the crowd and the pyrotechnics when England scored. The atmosphere was buzzing. It was a lovely surprise for my 15th birthday.”
The charity, celebrating its 20th anniversary, recently relocated its headquarters to Clanfield, Hampshire, and is urging local families affected by MD to reach out for assistance.
While the charity offers support to families affected by MD across the country, its new location presents an opportunity to establish local networks and bolster its outreach efforts within Hampshire.

The MHF is calling upon families in the area impacted by MD to get in touch and explore the ways in which it can provide support. Additionally, local businesses willing to contribute and raise funds are also encouraged to come forward. The charity is also seeking new trustees to join its expanding board.
To commemorate the charity's arrival in Hampshire, a special ‘Hello Hampshire’ event is being planned for early summer, exclusively for previous "Muscle Warrior" beneficiary families residing in the county.
Any local families interested to learn more about the charity, local businesses looking to support the charity, or individuals interested in becoming a trustee, can contact the charity via the form on its website: musclehelp.com.
