WHERE is the best place to get ice cream in Basingstoke?

We asked our readers this question on our Facebook page and received dozens of answers.

As the warm summer weather comes in, we'll all fancy an ice cream sooner or later, and there are hundreds and thousands of places to get one in our town.

Emma Louise Eden's response proved popular, she said: "Scooperb by the Wote Street Willy."

This recent addition to the town centre opened in 2022 and has built up quite a reputation making it a strong contender.

Sheena Grassi said: "Eastrop Park."

The ice cream kiosk at the boating lake has been a staple of the town for many years, with generations of children coercing their parents into getting their sweet treats on sunny days, a true flavour-ite for many in town.

Sharon Jones said: "The new gelato place near Burger King is lush."

Sharon is, of course, referring to the G Factory, which also opened in 2022 and has melted the hearts of its customers.

Helen Smith sprinkled on a slightly different answer, she said: "Asda sells a really creamy salted caramel ice cream, and Aldi sells a really creamy choc ice - both are cheap and delicious and always in my freezer."

Tel Stoner said: "Mr Rossi."

Rossi's Ice Creams is a family-run business, serving ice cream from their vans for generations, no doubt everyone in the town will recognise their classic chimes.

But which place was the most frequently suggested?

It's currently a tie between the two new kids on the choc: Scooperb and the G factory.

It seems our readers can't decide on one single favourite place, so it's probably for the best to visit as many as possible this summer.
