DRIVERS in Basingstoke will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 9am February 20 to 1pm July 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 5 to 5, hard shoulder closure for inspection works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A303, from 8pm May 24 to 6am May 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, King Worthy to Three Maids Hill, carriageway closure for structures work.

• A34, from 8pm May 31 to 6am June 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 southbound, Litchfield, Lane closures for inspection work.

• M3, from 8pm June 1 to 6am June 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 6, slip road and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 8pm June 5 to 6am June 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to A303 westbound, link road lane closures for inspection work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
