A CARE home in Basingstoke celebrated a sweet national Strawberries and Cream Day to residents' delight.
St Thomas Care Home, in St Thomas Close, celebrated the occasion with delicious strawberries and cream for all to enjoy. National Strawberries and Cream Day is on May 21.
Residents enjoyed themselves, reminiscing whilst eating one of their favourite treats. Staff at the home sat and enjoyed the delightful treats with residents, listening to their stories and helping them to relive their memories.

St Thomas has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe environment for people living with dementia. The home aims to maintain residents' life skills, improve their self-esteem and help maintain and develop their independence.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by a team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, at the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University.
General manager for St Thomas care home, Maggie, said: “Here at St Thomas we love celebrating, from the biggest occasions to the smallest occasions. As you can see by our beautiful residents' faces they have had an amazing time celebrating strawberries and cream day.”
