MEMBERS of the Basingstoke Gazette have moved into their new office - and were delighted to get the backing of MP Maria Miller on their first day.
The Basingstoke Gazette has relocated to Absolutely Offices in Chineham.
It had previously been using shared workspace at the Village Hotel in Basing View but after recently expanding the team, with the addition of digital editor Megan Stanley and digital reporter Matt Rooks-Taylor, editor Kimberley Barber said it was time to get back into their own space.

Four members of the team set up their desks on Friday, and the others are due to move in after the bank holiday. In total nine members of the editorial staff will use the office.
Kimberley said: "We have seen more people wanting to come into the office and work together as a team so it was time to find a more suitable place to work. We have our own space at Absolutely Offices and are really looking forward to collaborating more, plus getting to know the many other businesses that already operate from the offices."
The team has been welcomed by Beryl Huntingdon, managing director of Absolutely Offices.
She said: "We are delighted to welcome the Gazette after working with them lots of times over the years. It is lovely to officially have them in the office, it will be a great support for local businesses."
Basingstoke MP Dame Miller was also at the offices on Friday - and she gave the move her backing.

She said: "It is fantastic to see our local newspaper supporting local business Absolutely Offices. Absolutely provides office space for so many local businesses and has done for more than 20 years."
Absolutely Offices has appeared in the Gazette several times over the past year, with it turning into a collection point for Ukraine, raising money to send a truck to the war-torn country and also when it won the Business and the Community award at the Place to be Proud of awards.
The Gazette had been working from VWorks at the Village Hotel since its Pelton Road offices closed in 2020.
