A JURY has been asked to find alleged murderers not guilty following a fatal attack that killed a man in Basingstoke, a court has heard.
As previously reported, Frazer Brabant was assaulted and found with serious head injuries in the back garden of a house in Gershwin Road on October 31, 2019.
The 31-year-old father-of-two was taken to hospital and died on January 21, 2020.
Five men have gone on trial at Winchester Crown Court accused of offences involving Mr Brabant’s death.

Lee Wood, 32, from Griston, Thetford, Norfolk; Forhad Miah, 32, of Chestnuts Close, Oakley; and Scott Neale, 35, from Spindle Close, Oakridge, have all been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit GBH with intent and violent disorder.
James O’Connor, 24, from Fairfield, Whitchurch, is accused of murder, and Ricky Lewis, 40, from Candover Court, Basingstoke, has been charged with conspiracy to commit GBH with intent and violent disorder.
Wood has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter along with Miah and O'Connor, while Neale has pleaded guilty to the charge.
Prosecutor, Michael Burrows KC previously told the jury that Mr Brabant was attacked as “revenge” for a knife-point robbery where £1,800 worth of drugs were stolen from Neale. It took place three months before the day of the attack.
Mr Burrows has already delivered his closing statement, in which he told the jury the Crown suggest Wood, Miah, Neale and O'Connor were all present during the fatal attack.

Closing the Crown's case he said the attack "was like a military operation".
Stan Reiz, defence for Neale, said in his closing statement that Neale had left before that fatal blow was inflicted.
He said: "I'm not requesting sympathy for Scott Neale. You won't like Scott. You won't like his way of living. But that doesn't mean he killed Frazer Brabant."
On Friday, May 26 barristers continued to deliver their closing statements to the jury.
Ian Henderson, defence for Forhad Miah, said the case against Miah "is based solely on circumstantial evidence".
Mr Henderson said that Miah was at home during the evening of the attack and during evidence he called on his brother as a witness.
He said: "If Forhad Miah was at home that night then he could not have been involved in the attack."

He asked the jury to find Miah not guilty of all charges.
Bernard Tetlow, who defends Lee Wood, also said the evidence against Wood is "based on guesswork" because mobile phone data does not place him at the scene of any of the incidents, including the fatal attack.
Lewis is the only defendant not charged with murder or manslaughter.
Kevin Dent, defence for Lewis, told the jury that Lewis "did not see any need for violence, to him it was ridiculous" and that he only passed on messages to others.

He continued: "We do not see any encouragement of violence."
He asked the jury to "find him [Lewis] not guilty of both of the charges he faces".
The jury is expected to hear from Iggy Hughes, defending James O'Connor, on Tuesday, May 30.
The trial continues.
