A NEW alfresco Italian restaurant has opened near Basingstoke serving stone-baked pizzas and Italian-inspired cocktails.

La Terrazza has launched at Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield, combining the best of local Hampshire produce with classic Italian dishes.

Located on the terrace of the Wild Carrot restaurant, La Terrazza features a traditional pizza oven and stunning countryside views across the hotel’s grounds.

Dishes showcase Italian cuisine and are prepared in an open kitchen.

The new menu is described as offering “a pure taste of Italy” drawing on the culinary storytelling passion of chef Angelo Doganieri.

Customers can enjoy stone-baked pizzas, creamy artisanal cheeses and hand-baked traditional breads, complemented by a colourful selection of freshly prepared salads and fine Italian cold cuts.

Diners can complete their culinary experience with an array of fresh Italian-inspired cocktails.

The new restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 12pm and 2.45pm for lunch and between 5pm and 8.45pm for dinner.

The menu includes starters of tomato bruschetta and aubergine parmigiana and mains such as the classic margherita pizza or chef Angelo’s signature, Doganieri parmigiana, which includes burnt multi grains, San Marzano tomato sauce, For di Latte, aubergine, confit tomatoes and ricotta salata.

Desserts include tiramisu, Nutella pizza and panna cotta with raspberries.
