FESTIVAL Place is still “in talks” with Ted Baker to open a store in the shopping centre.
The fashion brand was due to open in an empty unit in Festival Place at the start of the year, with a sign on the shop saying it will open in ‘early 2023'.
However, halfway through 2023 and the store remains empty.

Asked when it will be opening, and whether it is still opening in Festival Place, a spokesperson for the shopping centre said there is “no update” and that the shopping centre is "still talking to Ted Baker”.
The chain is meant to take over a unit previously occupied by British lifestyle brand Joules, which closed its Basingstoke store on August 26, 2022, after less than three years in the town.
Neil Churchill, director of Festival Place, previously said: “We are in advanced talks with another well-loved brand Ted Baker, which we hope will add to our retail offering in Festival Place. So, watch this space.”
Ted Baker has been asked for a comment.
