A CAMBRIDGE man has admitted to failing to provide a specimen for analysis in Basingstoke.
Plamen Pavlov, of Waterbeach, was suspected to have driven a vehicle and having been required to provide a specimen or specimens of breath for analysis, he failed to do so without reasonable excuse. The offence took place on March 15.
The 41-year-old changed his plea during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
He was ordered to pay at £93 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
A BASINGSTOKE man who was more than three times over the legal alcohol limit, with a child in the car, has been handed a suspended sentence.
Joseph Tibin, of Priestley Road, was stopped on Nuffield Way on February 3, it was found that he had 128 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35. He was also found to be driving without a licence.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
Tibin was given a 10-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
The court said: “The defendant drove with a very high level of alcohol in his system, with a child in the car and there was a collision. This is so serious that only custody can be imposed, however it is suspended as the Defendant is of prior good character and there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation.”
He must complete up to 20 rehabilitation days and 50 hours of unpaid work. Tibin was also disqualified from driving for 36 months, along with being told to pay an £154 victim surcharge and £85.
A 66-YEAR-old who was caught over the drink drive limit has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
Mervyn Dobson, of Rose Hodson Court, Kingsclere, was driving a Vauxhall Mokka when he was stopped on Kingsclere Road on March 14. It was found that he had 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, Dobson pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £284, he must also pay an £114 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
MAGISTRATES have jailed a Basingstoke man who damaged front doors and found in possession of cocaine.
Samuel Rolfe, of Quilter Road, was found in possession of cocaine on May 23, on the same day he also damaged a door belonging to a woman in Basingstoke.
On the following day, May 24, he damaged the front door of Basingstoke property, he was later arrested for breaking bail conditions.
The 22-year-old admitted to four charges at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court - possess a controlled drug of Class A; two counts of criminal damage and arrest by a constable for breaking / likely to break bail conditions - duty to surrender into the custody of a court.
Rolfe was jailed for eight weeks and court said that the sentence “reflects the premeditated and habitual offending, albeit low level in and of themselves, and the inability to comply with court warnings.”
A BASINGSTOKE woman who was caught over the drink drive limit has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
Jemma Read, of Hasker Road, was stopped on Churchill Way East on May 10. It was found that she had 76 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, the 35-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.
She was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £500, he must also pay an £200 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
