A NEW spiritual festival is set to take place in Basingstoke for the first time in August this year.
Surrender Festival is coming to Dummer Down Farm on Saturday, August 12. The festival is promised to be different to that of a standard festival, with a variety of different acts and workshops to take part in, such as music, comedy, spiritual talks, a kung fu class, an art zone and even sports.
Also on site is a healing tent where you can get a massage, psychic reading and private energy healing sessions, and there is a shamanic circle around a large firepit, where there will be drumming, chanting, and shamanic ceremonies.

A chill-out zone with hammocks and bean bags in a wooded area will be in place at the festival, as well as a magician and a delicious selection of vegan food can be bought on-site if festival goers get peckish.
Most intriguing of all is that there is no alcohol at this festival, with festival organisers claiming that it won't be needed to enjoy yourself.
Festival organiser, Andrew Narouz, said: "This is our first time doing this but we plan to start every year going forward. We've been running spiritual events throughout the year and have seen some amazing changes in people, so we tried to work out how we could do it for a larger community, which is why we have decided to organise this festival.

"We want to put on an event that anyone and everyone can enjoy, relax and have a lot of fun. We, the organisers, are part of a community of people who are living life based on oneness, love, joy, spiritual growth and healing.
"Any profits we make from the festival would go to our non-profit fund that will allow us to create a beautiful physical base for our community so that others can join our community and enjoy the new way of living we have adopted. Come and join the celebration."
