A TEAROOM in Basingstoke has been awarded four badges of honour from Restaurant Guru.

The Parlour Tearoom is a family-run traditional English tearoom nestled inside an old milking parlour, situated at Viables Craft Centre.

The cafe was established back in 2010 and experienced a change of ownership in March 2017 when mother and daughter Lucy and Sharon Fisher took the business reins and made it into the tearoom that is a much-loved destination in Basingstoke today.

The business has since grown in both size and popularity and has gone on to achieve a multi-award winning status in Hampshire, including being voted best cafe in Hampshire and Isle of Wight 2020.

It prides itself on its homemade cakes, afternoon teas and light lunches, making and baking everything fresh to order and in-house.

The tearoom has recently been awarded four badges of honour from Restaurant Guru. Restaurant Guru is a wiki and metasearch for restaurants that provide users with complete information on restaurants, including visitors' reviews, menus, photos and more.

The four badges of honour have been awarded for best interior, best desserts, best recommended and for being one of the top 10 cafes in Basingstoke.

Lucy and Sharon said: “We are over the moon to have been recognised and awarded in four different categories. It is a huge achievement which makes all the hard work seem worth it.

"Small businesses like ours have not had it easy in the past few years and it is very warming to know that we still have love and support from our customers. The recent awards are based on good reviews so a huge thank you.”
