A WATER leak at Basingstoke Leisure Park has resulted in a section of the road being closed while repair work is carried out.
The leak happened in the evening on Tuesday, June 27 and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have since taken to Twitter to share the news.
They posted: "A water leak at the Leisure Park during the night has resulted in the section of Euskirchen Way between the Premier Inn and iFLY being closed, while South East Water carry out repairs.
"The Leisure Park remains open but if you are planning to visit, please use the entrance via the slip road off Churchill Way. Customers visiting either iFLY or Costa, should follow the diversion route which has been set up.

"Access to the Premier Inn is not affected by the road closure."
When the leak was first spotted on Tuesday evening red tape could be seen around the affected area.
Paul Mann, South East Water distribution manager, said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused following the burst water main near Basingstoke Leisure Park on Tuesday.
“We are in the process of repairing the 18-inch diameter main and to ensure the safety of the public and our repair teams, a temporary road closure is in place on Euskirchen Way.

“Businesses are open as usual and access to the car park is being maintained while we carry out the work to complete the repair and reinstate the road, which is set to continue over the next couple of weeks.
“Unfortunately, leaks and bursts do happen from time to time on our 9,000-mile underground water network.
