A GRAPHIC designer from Whitchurch is encouraging youngsters to take part in an online course to show them the exciting possibilities of a career in the industry.

Faye Brown, 45, created 'Summer of Design', which is an online course aimed at ten- to 17-year-olds, with the aim of introducing them to aspects of graphic design as a potential career.

Faye, who grew up in Ludgershall and went to Cricklade College, now known as Andover College, has been a graphic designer for 23 years.

Faye went freelance in 2010, and last year decided to run a summer course on graphic design aimed at teenagers to give them knowledge on how to use design software effectively.

Last year Faye had nearly 100 students on the course, and she intends to try and do the same again this year.

Faye said: "Summer of Design is an online course aimed at young people introducing them to many aspects of graphic design over six weeks/modules. The course is the perfect mix of fun and creativity whilst also learning lots at the same time.

"I’m really passionate about young people finding careers they love and as a kid who constantly created art, I feel very fortunate to have had a career I genuinely love. I’m hoping Summer of Design will inspire kids to look at graphic design as a potential career."
