A BASINGSTOKE woman has been sent to prison for 15 weeks following a string of theft offences in Basingstoke.
Mary-Anne Mitchell, of Vivaldi Close, was previously handed a community order on February 6 in relation to a string of offences in Basingstoke.
On or about December 9 the 37-year-old stole Christmas gifts belonging to a One Stop store in Sark Way.
On or about December 10 last year Mithcell assaulted another woman and stole cash to the value of £20.
A few days later on or about December 13 of the same year, Mitchell stole two bottles of wine belonging to a One Stop shop in Shakespeare Road.
At the start of this year on or about January 3 she stole four boxes of wine valuing £57.29 belonging to Tesco in Festival Place.

The following day on or about January 4 she stole Steak's Chicken and Red Bull worth £65 belonging to Tesco in Carpenters Down and bottles of wine worth £150 belonging to Tesco in Festival Place.
The following day on January 5 she attempted to steal alcohol belonging to the Tesco store in Festival Place.
During a hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 26 magistrates sent her to prison for 15 weeks and deemed the offences serious because she failed to take advantage of the opportunity to serve the sentence in the community.
