A TEAROOM in Basingstoke is celebrating after receiving an outstanding five stars in a recent food hygiene rating.
The Parlour Tearoom is a family-run traditional English tearoom nestled inside an old milking parlour, situated at Viables Craft Centre.
The cafe was established back in 2010 and experienced a change of ownership in March 2017 when mother and daughter Lucy and Sharon Fisher took the reins of the business and made it into the tearoom.

The Parlour Tearoom received the rating for the sixth year running to the delight of the whole team. The tearoom was inspected on July 4.
It was awarded a five-star hygiene rating with no room for improvement or any recommendations for adjustments. The areas inspected by a food safety officer are hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.
The tearoom makes and bakes in the kitchen every day and is able to cater for vegans, dairy intolerances and coeliacs as well.
Lucy Fisher said: “We are so pleased we have been awarded a five rating once again, we have been able to maintain a five-star rating for the past six years since we have taken ownership, which is amazing.
"It shows the dedication myself and the team have to provide the very best we can in the very safest way possible, all whilst ensuring our cakes and bakes are still homemade."

The five-star hygiene rating comes after The Parlour Tearoom celebrated receiving four badges of honour from Restaurant Guru. Restaurant Guru is a wiki and metasearch for restaurants that provide users with complete information on restaurants, including visitors' reviews, menus, photos and more.
