A TRADITIONAL pub which was recently listed as an asset of community value has been sold.
The Fox in North Waltham has been bought by Trust Inns after the previous owners of over 20 years, Rob and Izzie MacKenzie, decided to retire.
A spokesperson for Trust Inns said: “Trust Inns are delighted with the acquisition of the Fox Inn, which fits neatly within our diversely located and segmented portfolio across the UK. As an independently owned company, we will continue to buy quality inns and pubs, and we’d like to say thank you to Richard and Christie & Co for their help in the successful purchase of the Fox.
“We wish Rob and Izzie a long and enjoyable retirement from the Fox and will continue to nurture their legacy for a successful future for the site.”
Richard Wood, regional director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, added: “I am delighted to have sold the Fox Inn on behalf of Rob and Izzie to Trust Inns, who are going to tenant the property. Rob and Izzie have put their heart and soul into the business over the last 20 years and they deserve a well-earned retirement.
“This sale demonstrates the continued demand we are experiencing for pubs with the potential to be tenanted throughout the South of England.”
The traditional inn provides a charming atmosphere for up to 55 customers to enjoy the food and drink menus on offer, as well as wine-pairing meals.
The historic building is much cherished by the local community, recently being listed as an asset of community value.
