MORE than 1,000 talented young performers have appeared on stage at Basingstoke's theatre in the last couple of months.
The appearances at The Anvil and The Haymarket were all part of the large number of school and community events held in Basingstoke’s prestigious venues each year.
Those taking part included the Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestra, Basingstoke Primary Schools Festival, Kingsclere Performing Arts College, Hampshire County Youth Orchestra, Hampshire Music Service, Bramley CE Primary School, Ashford Hill Primary School, Petite School of Dancing, Basingstoke Academy of Dancing, Fusion Dance, and the National Children’s Orchestra.

Thousands of people enjoyed the end-of-year shows put on by dance schools, primary schools, colleges and youth orchestras. While over 1,500 children attended day-time performances by Hampshire County Youth Orchestra as part of a special Primary Prom concert.
“It’s vital for young musicians and dancers to have the chance to perform in top-class professional venues. Whether they will go on to make it a career, or have an unforgettable memory of the experience, we are always very pleased to welcome these brilliant young performers to showcase their best work”, said Matthew Cleaver, chief executive at Anvil Arts.
