OVER 6,000 reports of potholes on Basingstoke's roads were received by Hampshire County Council in just three years, with one road being reported almost 300 times in that time period.
A freedom of information request (FOI) submitted to the county council by the Gazette revealed all the carriageways in Basingstoke and Deane that have had potholes reported between 2020 and 2022.
This comes as road users in the Basingstoke and Deane area have raised concerns regarding the current condition of the roads in the borough, with many potholes said to have got 'considerably worse' within the last 18 months.

From 2020 to 2022, 6,416 reports of potholes on roads in Basingstoke and Deane were received by the county council - although the figures provided relate to carriageway potholes only.
The data does not reflect individual potholes as there might have been multiple reports of a single pothole.
The three worst roads in the Basingstoke and Deane area from 2020 to 2022 were Berrydown Lane where 201 potholes were reported over the three years. Kingsclere Road was reported for potholes 206 times, while Andover Road had a whopping 278 reported potholes.
