THE Basingstoke Aldi is the latest to benefit from major new changes to its checkouts being rolled out at stores across the country.
Aldi, at St Michael’s Retail Park, in The Harrow Way, now has seven new self-service checkouts replacing two checkout aisles inside the store.

The supermarket chain first launched self-service checkouts at some of its stores in 2019 and following positive feedback decided to introduce further self-checkouts across the country to “further improve customer experience”.
Basingstoke is the latest store to have the self-checkouts installed.

According to national reports, the extended rollout of self-service tills across the country has had mixed reactions from shoppers, with some welcoming the news while others saying they take longer.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Checkouts manned by our amazing colleagues will still be available for customers who prefer to use these.”
