DRIVERS in and around Basingstoke and Deane will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A34, from 8pm July 17 to 6am August 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9 to junction 8, carriageway and lane closures for carriageway reconstruction works.

• A34, from 8pm July 17 to 6am August 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9 to junction 8, carriageway and lane closures for carriageway reconstruction works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A34, from 8pm August 21 to 6am August 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 southbound, Bullington, exit slip road and lane closure for electrical works.

• A303, from 8pm August 29 to 6am August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Bullington, slip road and lane closure for drainage works.

• A34, from 8pm August 31 to 6am September 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9 to junction 8, carriageway and lane closures for carriageway reconstruction works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
