A BASINGSTOKE man has been arrested following the tragic death of a cat in a dog attack.
The 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to prevent the causing of unnecessary suffering to an animal.
He was also arrested on suspicion of failing to comply with a control of dog order.
It comes after a cat was attacked and killed by a dog on Stoneham Way, Basingstoke, on Thursday 10 August.
The arrest was made on Friday morning, August 25.
A dog was also seized by officers after the man's arrest.
The arrested man remains in custody, while police enquiries are ongoing.
