POLICE have been given more time to hold cash seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act from two men living in Basingstoke.
On Sunday, February 19, £4,588.25 was seized from 29-year-old Thipapan Daengphai, of Winchester Road, at the Northern Police Investigation Centre, in Basingstoke.
On the same day at the investigation centre £2,610 was seized from Chalini Kaeorak, 37, also of Winchester Road.
At Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 18, police applied for the continued detention of the cash.

Magistrates approved the applications, and the money can be held by Hampshire Constabulary for a further six months.
The court register did not detail why the cash was originally seized but stated that it was in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Neither defendant was present at the court hearings.
