1. Millennium Trail, Alresford

A beautiful walk from the market town of Alresford, along the River Alre, following the circular route.

This much-loved route at the home of the Watercress Line takes you through the beautiful countryside, via stone paths and woodlands, there is so much to enjoy in Alresford.

2. St Catherine's Hill, Winchester

If you haven't been here by now, you're missing out.

The beauty spot provides a stunning view overlooking Winchester, you can admire the historic city once you reach the top.

A stroll along the River Itchen to venture into the city itself always makes for a great day out.

3. New Forest National Park

If you're looking for a countryside walk in Hampshire, look no further than the New Forest.

Picturesque fields, ancient woodlands and even wild ponies, what more could you want?

There are so many areas to go in the New Forest, each making for a unique experience, it is definitely worth a trip there while the weather is nice.

4. Cliddesden and Ellisfield

Often overlooked when it comes to a day out, these villages in the Hampshire countryside make for a gorgeous, scenic walk.

A 10.1km circular trail takes you through fields and woodlands, providing plenty of rural scenery to enjoy in the sunshine.

5. The Mill Trail, Whitchurch

Tripadvisor describes this walk as a "hidden gem in Hampshire", and it is not wrong.

You can take a stroll along the River Test, passing a number of famous locations including the historic Silk Mill and the Bombay Saphire Distillery.

Crystal-clear chalk stream waters will sparkle in the sun as you enjoy this short but sweet rural walk.

6. Micheldever Woods

For those who prefer shade, the woods at Micheldever provide the perfect environment for a leisurely afternoon.

Located approximately five miles northeast of Winchester, there are two walking trails to enjoy and bear witness to the spectacular display of bluebells.

7. Basingstoke Canal

A picturesque walk along the Basingstoke Canal always makes for a lovely afternoon.

Make your way through the countryside, along the canal towpath through fields with cows and find yourself at the ruins of Odiham Castle.

If you fancy a pint, there are even a few pubs nearby where you can make a pit stop.

8. Queen Elizabeth Country Park

An impressive rural walk through 2,000 acres of open-access woodlands, this park makes for a tranquil day out, whether you're on foot, cycling or even on horseback.

It's definitely worth a visit now that the weather is nice.

9. Ashford Hangers National Nature Reserve

Known locally as "Little Switzerland", this beautiful Hampshire woodland is a sight to behold.

The reserve is a woodland of beech, ash and yew trees on steep chalk hillsides, with areas of chalk grassland and plenty of rare plants to marvel at.

Access is a bit tricky, but there are networks of footpaths and tracks that walkers can use, with the nearest pub being an eight-minute drive away.

10. Smannell Woods

Located in a historic village just two miles from Andover, this beautiful area in Hampshire has some of the most scenic views of rivers, as well as chalklands.

This somewhat underrated woodland is perfect not only for bluebell walks but for wildlife spotting too.
