TWO boys were seen gaining entry into a Basingstoke secondary school's grounds by climbing over a spiked metal gate before a window was smashed.

Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses and information following the incident, when two people believed to be teenage boys were seen climbing the 10ft spiked metal gate to enter Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School, in St Michael’s Road, South Ham.

The incident happened between 1.40am and 1.50am on Tuesday, August 29, when a large window at the school was smashed.

The boys, who had their hoods up, were in the school grounds for a short period of time before leaving the scene.

It is believed one of them suffered an injury after climbing the fence.

Hampshire Constabulary said: “Officers have been carrying out enquiries and are now appealing for information. Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness any suspicious behaviour or the incident?"
