A PERSON has died after being hit by a train on Friday, September 8.
Trains between Basingstoke and Reading were delayed after emergency services were called to Reading West Train Station at around 7.30am, after reports of a person being hit by a train.
A statement shared on Great Western Railway's website said: "We are sorry for the delay to your journey. It is with great sadness that we report a person has been struck by a train, leading to all lines being blocked.

"It is necessary to bring all trains in the affected area to an immediate stop. Where we can, we will divert trains to run on other lines around the affected area."
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Reading West station at 7.34am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
